PubSub Depreciation

I know the title sounds ominous, but it's true based on an email I received from Twitch a few days ago. Item Flood in its current iteration relies on features Twitch is depreciating, and those features (and the program itself based on how it is coded) will likely cease to function once Twitch completes its depreciation. 

Here are two important portions of the email I'd like to share:

We’ve identified that your Twitch application below has used the Twitch legacy PubSub system in the last month. As a courtesy, we wanted to send a reminder that PubSub is deprecated and action may be required to minimize disruption to your application before the final shutdown on April 14, 2025.

Leading up to the shutdown date, intensional shutdown windows have been established to signal the need for migrating to EventSub. For the most up-to-date schedule, please refer to the announcement linked above. At this time, the first phased shutdown windows will be for 1 hour on February 10, 2025 starting at 11:00AM PST. During this window, new LISTEN requests will be rejected while existing connections will continue to receive events.

Future of Item Flood

The good news is that I already planned and am in the process of porting Item Flood to Godot. The bad news is that I have a chronic illness and have not been well enough to work on the project in a long time. I cannot make any promises that an updated Item Flood will be available before the PubSub shutdown on April 14th, but I will be putting more effort into updating it over the next few months. 

For now I've turned off the optional payments for the program.  A huge thank you to everyone who has enjoyed this little program of mine. Especially those who still paid something for it even though it's free. I appreciate you.
